I’m sure you have heard the excuse made by many business people when workers, investors and customers get the shaft; they say, it’s just business! WTF? Is it really? Or is it just an excuse to maintain your self-interest at the expense of others? This might have been the old paradigm of business in the past, but this crap no longer flushes. As we become more aware of our duty to life through Divine service, we learn that what we do to others, we ultimately do to ourselves.
The old paradigm is one of competition, which is a ‘contest’ between two or more beings for dominance or leadership. It comes from fighting or resisting what the other guy believes and setting forth what you believe as being either better or more accurate. Competition is diametrically opposed to ‘cooperation’, which is seeing and utilizing our mutual gifts toward a successful and fruitful end. Cooperation is based on sharing and competition is based on selfishness. Competition exists when your ego focuses more on its needs, wants, desires and expectation than to our mutual collective goals and benefits. In the business world competition exists not only between companies, but within companies for the purposes of self-aggrandizement.
Competition implies that there will always be a victim and a victor. It can stifle and/or bolster creativity depending upon what is envisioned as the ultimate outcome! The etymology of the term ‘competition’ comes from the Latin ‘competitio’ which means an agreement in rivalry; a contest for something; to strive to ‘outdo’ another for acknowledgment, recognition or profit. In other words, an ‘ego’ game. However, other meanings attributed to this word mean ‘to strive together’, come together or agree. Basically it means to come together to seek what is better than what is already existing! Is the only way to make things better to engage in a competition? Hell no! In the opposite state of competition, cooperation imbues peace, accord, agreement, harmony, surrender and sympathy.
Business declares that we must compete with each other in order to survive. What is business? It is the purchasing and sale of products and services to derive a profit. The word business comes from the Old English ‘bisignes’ which means care, anxiety and occupation. In other words, engaging in something that you care about so much that you become anxious and worrisome about its results. This is an egotistical reaction to what you don’t know about what is going to happen that creates anxiety. Anxiety creates fear of what the other guy will do and the ego reacts with greed; which is excessive or rapacious yearning for the control, domination and manipulation of wealth and resources in order to ensure the maintenance of your preferred lifestyle.
The word origin of greed is from the Old English ‘grǣdig’ which means ‘hungry’. Are you hungry for success? Do you believe that you can only get what you want from the other guy because your resources are limited? The progenitor of greed is revealed ultimately by your mouth. Are you apathetic or indifferent towards the needs, wants, desires and expectations of others? Are you supportive, generous and benevolent with your verbalizations to others? Always remember that what comes out of your mouth reveals what is in your heart. If you live in fear and choose to compete instead of co-create with others you are denying your divine connection with all of life. Know this: "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit" (Proverbs 18:21, NIV).
Stop fighting, resisting and competing with others. Your divine gifts of your talents, skills and abilities are different from others’ gifts. They must recognize and develop them just as you have to. In reality, there is never a competition; only a recreation of what has already been created in a different form. Recognize the raw materials available for you to recreate beauty in your life while helping others to recreate theirs! Work in agreement for the betterment of all instead of the advantage of self. You will be blessed with peace, understanding, joy and Divine love everlasting while you live in health, wealth, prosperity and abundance. Be true to the gifts you have received by Divine grace and allow your Divine purpose to unfold perfectly in Divine order for the benefit of all. Be ye therefore perfect in co-creating a beautiful life replete with inner blessings and all else will be added unto you. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
When your suspicions become volitions, it is your ego wanting to be recognized for its ability to see possibilities and act on them in a timely fashion before they become probabilities. It is acting on belief more than knowing and selfishness more than magnanimity.
Don’t allow what you believe is happening to override what you should know is happening. Go within and listen to Divine will more than your ego’s will.

CLARIFICATION
I truly need to clarify something. Yesterday, a FB friend posted a saying by the Buddha that highlighted ‘cravings’ and ‘yearnings’ correctly, and NOT desires. I commented and supported the assertion because it was correctly translated from the original Pali. Today, the same person posted another saying from the Buddha emphasizing desires and NOT cravings and yearnings. I pointed this out and was informed that BOTH of my comments were deleted because I was trying to change what the Buddha had said.
I responded by suggesting that the person study the original translations to determine the word meanings and cultural idioms. Just like what happened in the biblical translations, the same had occurred with what the Buddha had said. The Mahayanas literally changed what the Theravada monks knew directly from the Buddha. The same occurred with writers who wrote the gospels using the names of the disciples. I have always been open to open discourse and generally don’t remove people’s comments unless they are vulgar or religiously sacrosanct in gross error.
To the person who removed my comments I say that is your right. However, to blatantly deny the truth based on your own understanding without the proper research, is editorializing your own manifest agenda. Knowing what was said by ancient prophets and wise men requires diligent research and NOT blind acceptance. May you make the time to discover the truth of what was said and open your heart to the actual truth of what was said. VORTEX OF VAPIDITY
Has your life slipped into a vortex of vapidity? Do you feel listless, indifferent and lacking in spirit? Why do you feel this way? Is it because you have given up on things getting better? Or is it because you want others to believe that you are just like them and happily accept your apparent fate? Are you so shallow that you predicate your understanding of yourself by what others think and feel about you?
Well, if you are, you are not fooling those of us who know that you have chosen this path because of your lack of faith in actualizing what you were created to be. It is YOU who has lost your trust in the Divine. It is also YOU who can turn it all around.
The vortex of vapidity is self-replicating progenitor of victimhood when you choose to live in mediocrity and follow what others think, feel and believe you really are. Stop listening to what others have to say and start listening to the Divine within! Pivot to the vortex of victory by completely trusting in the Divine to supply your needs, nurture your wants, fulfill your desires and actualize your expectations.
How do you pivot? By letting go of resisting that which you believe is against you and start allowing it to pass through you into oblivion without attaching any emotions to it. IMAGINATION
One of the foremost proponents of the utilization of imagination as the key to understanding was Albert Einstein. He once said, “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” Where joy is present, fulfillment comes. Where sorrow is present, frustration abounds. Science allows us to methodically arrive at conclusions about the perceptions of our physical world. When scientific fact is guided by wise perceptions it is elevated into art.
Art is the expression of learning by the emotional guidance of the individual. When an individual derives joy from learning and creating they have reached the pinnacle of imaginative knowledge which, through understanding, develops infinite wisdom. Be focused on the joy of creation and the joy of creativity. The expression of joy is self-replicating; and so is the expression of sorrow. Both come from your attitude about and toward life. If you focus on lack and limitation, you will co-create more of the same.
If you focus on infinite abundance, you will feel the joy of living in it and co-creating with it. Lift yourself out of the doldrums of acclimation to how things ‘appear’ to be by trusting in the divine gift of co-creativity. You have been blessed with the power of Divine love to stretch beyond what appears to be into the realm of what ‘could’ be. When you discern the definitions and etymologies of words and their meanings, you are NOT splitting hairs. You are focusing on what the intentions were BEHIND the words.
Words are vibrational and graphical representations of thought patterns that become emotionalized by anyone who chooses to accept their veracity and validity without verification and actual occurrences. Diligent research reveals what one ‘assumes’ are the meanings behind sayings, aphorisms or verses.

When you deny the revelation of open and intelligent discourse, you are manipulating the facts to uphold your opinion more than allowing others to decide for themselves.

It has been brought to my attention by a friend on FB that I should dispense with the ‘disclaimers’ at the end of my writings and postings. It seems that I am being perceived as being ‘shallow’ by adding these disclaimers.
Unfortunately, the 'disclaimers' are a necessary evil since some have made claims that I am giving 'religious' advice that people take to heart and as a result that makes my liable for 'their' choices.
Also, many copyright claims are being filed against ordinary people who are legally sharing content, graphics and pictures according to the Fair Use clause. As for my message, it is genuine.
Most people don’t even read the ‘disclaimers’; they are there for those who have self-serving agendas whose sole purpose is to undermine the revelations I compose.

LEVELED
Only when the playing field is completely leveled, will each and every one of us be able to discover, nurture and develop our individual talents, skills and abilities. As long as privilege is afforded to anyone based on their race, health status, wealth education or lineage we are dividing more than uniting.
Each and every one of us possesses inalienable rights that dictate that we already have a level playing field. Inalienable rights are natural rights that cannot be repealed or restrained by human laws [Wikipedia.com]. Legal rights are those bestowed onto a person by a given legal system that can be modified, repealed, and restrained by human laws [Wikipedia.com].
Only when legal rights parallel inalienable rights will we truly have a level playing field. We are all equal in Divine love and no one has any natural right to life that supersedes another. Yet, we legislate legal rights to direct power to certain groups of people to increase their status over us, and hence, give our away our God-given power.
It’s about time that we stop giving away our collective power of Divine love to those who only use it for self-gain. Stand up for yourself by standing up for all of us! Be ye therefore perfect as your Father, which is in the Kingdom of Heaven within you, is perfect! ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

WHAT YOU FEEL
When you wake up to the fact that it is more how you handle what you feel than what you actually do, you will learn how to effectively channel your emotions into actualizing that which is perfect for you more than what you believe is perfect for you. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.
ENTITLED
When you believe that what you want is what you need, you are feeling entitled. Why? Because you believe that ‘who’ you are is more important than ‘what’ you are. Your ego has led you down a path of self-deception where it so prioritizes your self-survival, that it uses fear of not having what you want as a weapon of self-destruction against you. It wants you to depend on its guidance alone and it will do whatever it can to prove to you that it is right despite the facts to the contrary.
How do you escape its cunning grasp? By praying for Divine guidance; by meditating to receive Divine guidance; and by implementing Divine guidance through committing Divine service to others. These three things get you out of you and more into what is truly real. We exist within a soup of energies seen and unseen that determine the courses of our lives. How we navigate through these seen and unseen energies affects them into reflecting back to us what our sincere intent is and how we feel about truly helping others. Being able to effectively discern between our needs, wants, desires and expectations gives us clarity of purpose.
We are not islands in a sea of people; we are collective points of light that together light up the omniverse with our shared energies. Give to others what you desire the most and you will be blessed with peace in your gut, understanding in your heart, joy in your mind and Divine love in your soul. Expect health, wealth, prosperity and abundance for ALL and you, like the lilies of the field, will always be provided for with Divine love. Share that love with all and glow with the brightness of your inner divinity everlasting. Choose Divine guidance of egoic guidance and you will be led down a path of fulfillment over selfishness and reap a life replete with Divine love everlasting! ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

WANT TO BE?
If today is truly the first day of the rest of your life then yesterday was the last day of your previous life. Where you are now is a result of the last day and it is up to you to learn from what it has yielded. Are you where you want to be? Do you feel fulfilled in your accomplishments? Does your future look brighter now than it did? Only you can answer those questions.
When you come to understand why you are asking those questions you will realize that where you are is perfect in Divine order. Where you are going comes from where you have been and how you deal with where you have been in the past. Reframe what has happened as what has led you to be where you are now and let go of the emotional baggage of guilt, doubt, worry and fear.
Be that which is eternal and not what is temporal. To the degree which you identify with your divinity is the same degree to which you will manifest it. Be forthright, diligent and expectant of what you were created to be and the bounty of the omniverse will rain down on you with everlasting fulfillment! ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

When you defend what you know not of it is your ego that is comfortable with its belief system more than actual reality. No matter what religion or belief system you ascribe to knowledge dictates that you should be open to its clarification; and this understanding develops wisdom. Words are tools to facilitate understanding and should be properly defined and understood in the context in which they were presented. If you defend that which is misunderstood, it is your ego that is in charge and NOT your spirit.
Knowledge of the original language nuances, geographical and cultural idioms and contextual idiosyncrasies are tools to facilitate understanding. If you take literally from any ‘holy book’ what it says you are in gross error of the essence of what has been said. Digging deeper requires diligence, focus and an unwavering faith In developing wisdom from true understanding. Taking things at face value reveals emotionalism, rigid belief systems and sheer ego. Get over yourself and invite open discourse.
If not, you are just living in mediocrity, safety and a selfish illusion of security. Trust in the Divine to guide your observations, perceptions and beliefs. Transcend what has been said by experiencing the true knowing of Divine truth. Knowing Divine truth comes from letting go of what has been in favor of what currently IS in the now. As the Buddha said quite clearly, “You are the enlightenment.” Not some ‘holy’ book, guru or teacher. The Theravadas were instructed in cravings and yearnings and to teach anything else is misleading about what true desires are. I have been defriended again by someone who removed my posts from a thread that appeared on my wall claiming that desires are bad and misquoting what the Buddha actually said. I always invite open discourse and NEVER remove dissenting opinions from my threads because that is how we all learn from each other. This person did not like the fact that I challenged her assertions with facts!
When you act out of fear you are harboring resentment toward someone who you believe is threatening your survival and challenging your erroneous beliefs. I wish her the best and sincerely hope that she arrives at a place someday where she no longer fears what people say and allows open discourse to come to the truth. Is having your own truth better than having a shared truth? Having a universal truth is better; especially when it comes to those who deny the obvious truth when it is right in front of them.
You can call what anyone declares as ‘their’ truth; but does their truth hold a candle to the truth that has already been played out? Only events unfolding over time can answer that!
When you diminish what is a universal truth for all to only an individual truth for some, you are selfishly spinning what is for your own manifest agenda.
Observe the truth; perceive its consequences; and only believe what is universal for all more than what is convenient for you and you alone.
