When we elevate ANYTHING over the welfare of people it speaks volumes about us. Every day we view negativity on the news while the good news about the people who help others appears occasionally. Jesus said the poor will always be with us; he also said that if someone needs help and we turn our backs on them we are turning our backs on him. The state of our nation is in the hands of our elected representatives. We repeatedly elect those who don’t have our best interests at heart and then complain about our economy when those elected representatives pass legislation that deregulate corporations that send our jobs overseas. When our representatives are held accountable for accepting money from corporate interests, then, and only then will they be representing 'the people'. It is up to us to fulfill our collective destiny of prosperity. This will not occur if we do not educate ourselves in the real issues to make informed decisions and not rely on the opinions of others who have their own agendas.
